Myofascial Release ~ This 20 hour workshop details anatomy, physiology and kinesiology as it relates to the
myofascial system of the body.  Physiological processes that occur as myofascial techniques are applied are explained
in detail. The long-lasting postural and functional changes that occur during this work are explored along with the
sometimes profound personal changes that clients experience as myofascial restrictions are released throughout their
structure.  Myofascial Release techniques will be demonstrated and then practiced by participants in a well-supervised,
supportive atmosphere.  This workshop is taught by Chuck Carpenter, Certified Advanced Rolfer® and Co-Director of our
school.
Tuesdays,  Summer, 2007 date To Be Announced                                   6 pm - 10 pm          Cost:   $350
Elder and Hospice Care ~ This 20 hour workshop deals with an extremely rewarding group of clients: the elderly and
those facing the end of life.  As America's population ages, the needs of the elderly are often unmet by the medical
community.  Such frequent complaints as joint stiffness, constipation, and difficulty sleeping are considered normal
effects of aging.  These and other discomforts of growing older are often easily alleviated by massage.  The amount of
touch this population receives is hugely inadequate, and the touch that is received is often task-based, rather than
given with a caring intention.  Those who are experiencing the final stages of life, and their loved ones, benefit greatly
from gentle massage and energy techniques that can alleviate suffering and ease the individual's passage from this
world.  Indications and contraindications for massage are detailed along with techniques for each part of the body that
can be adapted to a nursing home, hospital or hospice setting.  Tips for working safely in these alternative settings
are also explored.  This workshop is taught by Virginia Tingley, RN, CMT, and Co-Director of our school, who has
extensive experience with and enthusiasm for working with the elderly and those ending their journey in this lifetime.
Summer, 2007 date To Be Announced                                                             Cost:   $350
Eastern Modalities ~ This 20 hour workshop provides the participant with a thorough understanding of the Five
Element Theory which is the foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  The major organ meridians are explored,
together with potent points. Techniques that can enhance your full-body massage are presented along with
'treatments' for various common complaints.  Learn to see the imbalances that clients bring to the table in a new light.
Taught by Mary Kate Strisik, LMT, an experienced AMMA therapist, who studied at the New York College for Wholistic
Health Education and Research.  An excellent preparation course for the Eastern Modalities section of the National
Certification Examination in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.

mental, emotional, and spiritual changes that occur in a woman's body throughout the childbearing year.  Techniques

designed full-body sequence.  Contraindications and positioning are emphasized to ensure maximum client safety.

with athlete populations.  Taught by Henry Roth, DC, NCBTMB, a long-time and well-loved member of the NJ

Emotional Freedom Technique ~ This 12-hour workshop is taught by Roseanna Ellis.  Emotional Freedom
Technique works on the premise that unresolved negative emotions contribute to physical pain and disease.  Using
energy meridians, many past traumas can be "tapped out" of the body, allowing the individual to finally heal.   This
technique truly integrates the mind, body and spirit, calling upon each to contribute to the whole.  The Technique is
quick and effective, and can be used in any setting, and is also valuable as a self-care tool.

Summer, 2007 date To Be Announced                                                              Cost:   $225
Under the Stone ~ This 8-hour workshop explores the novel use of various stones developed by Henry Roth, DC.  His
use of the stones as an extension of his gifted hands is a pleasure to watch.  Using a variety of types of stones each
with unique healing potential is a refreshing alternative to everyday hot stone massage.   The therapist will learn to
incorporate different stones into a full body massage, and to address common musculoskeletal complaints.  This
method induces profound relaxation and is also surprisingly effective in addressing trigger points and myofascial
restrictions.  Many types of stones will be available for purchase at affordable prices.  Taught by Henry Roth, DC,
NCBTMB, a long-time and well-loved member of the NJ massage therapy community, who has achieved an
impressive array of education and training.  A great way to prepare for the holiday season!
